As we continue to grow our global footprint, Zafuan’s work is crucial in ensuring we remain at the forefront of the evolving energy landscape, across all projects from CCS feasibility studies to Deepwater well engineering.

See below to discover more about Zafuan's journey, our regional commitment, and our exciting future plans across APAC!

Can you briefly describe your role as Project Manager at Elemental Energies?

I’ve proudly been with Elemental Energies for over 10 years now, undertaking complex well engineering and CCS projects, and bringing expertise to regions across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. My role is dynamic, blending technical engineering with project management and business development to ensure our initiatives succeed and align with industry standards

What recent projects are you most proud of?

I’m extremely proud of our recent collaboration with Longboat Energy on Deepwater prospect in Sarawak, Malaysia. Our team was involved in developing conceptual well design for their challenging deepwater prospect.

It was great to receive positive client feedback, particularly in response to the comprehensive engineering discussion of the well design and cost estimates - a testament to our expertise.

We’ve also just secured an exciting contract in Thailand, partnering with our client to develop cutting-edge CCS Drilling and Well Guidelines. This important project will help shape the future of sustainable energy in the region and we can’t wait to get started!

How does Elemental Energies differentiate itself in the APAC region?

Our long-standing local presence in the APAC region, particularly in Malaysia, is a significant differentiator. We’ve developed a solid reputation with major operators by integrating local knowledge with our broader global expertise. This approach has made us a trusted partner in well engineering and subsurface projects across the region.

What are some key industry trends you’re observing in the APAC region?

The APAC region is anticipating large investment over the next decade. CCS projects are gaining significant momentum in the APAC region, where there’s a growing recognition of the need for large scale CCS solutions. Over the next two decades, I expect CCS to become a major part of the energy industry here. With over 15 years of experience in delivering CCS engineering projects, our expert local team is well-positioned to support this growth, whilst establishing Elemental Energies as a leader in both regional and global CCS markets.
