Acquisition of Applied Petroleum Technology (APT)

Marking a significant step in expanding our subsurface capability, the acquisition of Applied Petroleum Technology AS (APT) brings over 25 years of specialist expertise in petroleum geochemistry and basin modelling. The move strengthens our integrated offering, enhancing how we support operators across exploration, production and late-life P&A while reinforcing our presence in Norway and key international markets.

Joint Venture with Iceland Drilling launched

Strategic joint venture to provide integrated geothermal project management spanning subsurface and well engineering through complete well construction, relying on the world-leading drilling teams at Iceland Drilling.

Joint Venture with Archer launched

Creating a global alliance to deliver integrated P&A services, combining the expert subsurface and well engineering capability of Elemental Energies with the cutting-edge P&A technology, well services and platform drilling capabilities of Archer.

Affirming Elemental Energies’ focus on Norway and the wider North Sea, the acquisition of Well Expertise brought extensive well management track record and leading teams across Marine, Logistics, QHSE and Project Management into the global organisation.

Elemental decommissioning solutions formed

Following a number of successful integrated wells & facilities decommissioning projects, Elemental Decommissioning Solutions was formed to build a dedicated team focused across the entire decommissioning lifecycle from wells P&A through removals and disposal.

Acquisition of Norwell Engineering

An acquisition that marked the consolidation of two of the industry’s most experienced well management businesses. Solidified Elemental Energies position as a leading deepwater and subsea field development partner.

Acquisition of Senergy Wells

Acquired the Senergy Wells business in December 2022, commencing the work to build Elemental Energies technical teams, management systems and global footprint.

Founded to build a global technical partner for a changing energy industry, with a focus on the core subsurface, wells and facilities engineering skills needed to deliver major projects across E&P, decommissioning and low carbon for global operators.

Norwell EDGE Training is founded

A pioneering eLearning company, spun-out of Norwell Engineering, with a focus on delivering wells technical training to meet OEUK competency guidelines. Developed a portfolio of more than 100 technical training modules, covering topics from well engineering to well integrity and well control..

Well Expertise is founded

Founded as a highly focused well management business, Well Expertise pioneered fully-outsourced well management in Norway delivering large scale campaigns and building an impressive track record across subsea, HPHT and P&A projects.

Senergy Wells is founded

One of the most successful well and reservoir engineering companies in the industry, Senergy grew to more than 400 personnel before selling to Lloyds Register, creating Lloyds Energy.

1989

Norwell Engineering is founded

Founded as a well engineering and well control consultancy, Norwell grew into one of the most experienced onshore and offshore-deepwater project management companies in the world.

World’s first projects, including pioneering work in subsea completions and world record water depth drilling in deepwater, formed a key part of the extensive Norwell track record.
