Project Overview

The client engaged our team to conduct an initial review of their oil and gas field to define in-place and recoverable hydrocarbon volumes and assess upper reservoir low-permeability zones. The objective was to identify optimal development concepts, well design options, and appropriate reservoir technologies to maximize recovery and production efficiency.

Scope of Work

  • Conducted petrophysical evaluation, geological review, and reservoir property mapping.
  • Generated type curves for gas production forecasting, GIIP estimation, and depletion mapping.
  • Developed static and dynamic screening models for infill well performance evaluation.
  • Built static models incorporating property revised facies model, porosity, permeability, and water saturation.
  • Performed dynamic data analysis, including well-level production, PLT interpretation, and pressure review.
  • Completed fluid characterization, including relative permeability, capillary pressure, and initial saturation models.
  • Constructed dynamic sector models with grid refinement, built a reference case, and calibrated to historical performance.
  • Evaluated upper zone infill well performance, optimizing well location and type, including hydraulic fracturing design.
  • Carried out sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of low and high geological cases on well performance.

“Through integrated subsurface analysis and robust dynamic modelling, the team demonstrated that previously marginal targets could deliver meaningful value, providing the UK Independent operator with a clear and defensible infill development opportunity.”

Subsurface Lead
Elemental Energies

Key Highlights

  • Delivered a fully integrated static and dynamic reservoir model to support infill drilling strategies.
  • Quantified GIIP and recoverable volumes, strengthening development planning confidence.
  • Optimized well design and location to enhance recovery from low-permeability zones.
  • Demonstrated potential production uplift through hydraulic fracturing and completion optimization.
  • Established a calibrated dynamic model for robust performance forecasting and future scenario evaluation.
